Cullen Molitor

Bio

Cullen is a Data Scientist investigating the global impacts of climate change on human wellbeing. He leverages advanced technologies, such as remote sensing and machine learning, along with social and environmental metrics to contribute to ongoing emLab projects. With previous experience as a field biologist for Channel Islands National Park, Cullen conducted long-term subtidal monitoring through scuba surveys, which helped him develop a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the natural world. To further his education and career, Cullen pursued a Masters of Environmental Data Science degree at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UCSB. After graduation, Cullen served as a Data Science Fellow for the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis. In this role, he contributed to the 2022 Ocean Health Index assessment, which involved analyzing global scale data to gain insights into the health of our oceans. He is committed to using his skills and expertise to make a positive impact in the world, and believes that through careful analysis and thoughtful action, we can create a better future for ourselves and our planet. In his free time, Cullen enjoys exploring the great outdoors through mountain biking, hiking, and free diving at the Channel Islands.
