Evan Patrick

Bio

Evan Patrick is a Postdoctoral Scholar on the Spatial Planning for Climate Change: Land Use for Conservation, Agriculture, and Energy (SPARCLE) project working to integrate ecological lags and multibenefit landscapes into land use prioritization models. Concurrently, he is evaluating the drivers and future trends of human-wildlife conflict in key African conservation landscapes. Evan’s dissertation work assessed agricultural vulnerability to drought and the connections between livelihood shocks and land use change in Central America. Prior to his PhD, Evan supported endangered species conservation in California’s working landscapes as a Research Analyst at Environmental Defense Fund. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from UC Berkeley and an M.S. and a B.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University. You can find him running the trails around Santa Barbara or reading at the downtown library.
